Discovering Dynamics Using Bayesian Clustering

چکیده
This paper introduces a Bayesian method for clustering dynamic processes and applies it to the characterization of the dynamics of a military scenario. The method models dynamics as Markov chains and then applies an agglomerative clustering procedure to discover the most probable set of clusters capturing the di erent dynamics. To increase e ciency, the method uses an entropy-based heuristic search strategy.

Kinetically-aware Conformational Distances in Molecular Dynamics
In this paper, we present a novel approach for discovering kinetically metastable states of biomolecular conformations. Several kinetically-aware metrics which encode both geometric and kinetic information about biomolecules are proposed. We embed the new metrics into k-center clustering and r-cover clustering algorithms to estimate the metastable states. Those clustering algorithms using kinet...
متن کاملAgricultural Economic Dynamics in a Bayesian DSGE Model for Iran
I ran’s economy is suffering from sharp and persistent economic shocks and agriculture plays an undeniable role in its economic growth and development. The aim of this paper is to study the relative contributions of various macroeconomic shocks to generating fluctuations in Iran’s agriculture sector. To do so, a Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) model, emphasizing on the ...
متن کاملBayesian Statistical Analysis of Bacterial Diversity
Bacteria play an important role in many ecological systems. The molecular characterization of bacteria using either cultivation-dependent or cultivation-independent methods reveals the large scale of bacterial diversity in natural communities, and the vastness of populations within a species or genus. Understanding how bacterial diversity varies across different environments and also within pop...
متن کاملModeling evolutionary dynamics of persistent viral infections using data mining techniques
In recent years, large datasets combining virological, therapy and clinical parameters have been become available for research. Data mining can help virologists exploit these data to acquire new insights into virus dynamics and the interaction with the host. Data mining consists of a collection of techniques which find useful patterns in large amounts of data. Techniques such as hierarchical cl...
متن کاملNonparametric Bayesian Clustering via Infinite Warped Mixture Models
We introduce a flexible class of mixture models for clustering and density estimation. Our model allows clustering of non-linearly-separable data, produces a potentially low-dimensional latent representation, automatically infers the number of clusters, and produces a density estimate. Our approach makes use of two tools from Bayesian nonparametrics: a Dirichlet process mixture model to allow a...
